Gemma Atkinson shares home rule as Gorka Marquez returns home for a few days amid touring

Gemma Atkinson appears to have shared a rule she and Gorka Marquez have implemented at home in a bid to keep their daughter in touch with her roots. Three-year-old Mia is currently enjoying having her dancer dad back home as he spends a few days with her and her fiance Gemma in between shows.

Gemma, 38, shared last month how she was 'riding solo' as Gorka, 32, prepared to hit the road with his new tour, Firedance, alongside his Strictly Come Dancing co-star, dance partner and friend, Karen Hauer. The tour has since begun and last week, Gorka made a brief visit home which led to Gemma sharing a heartbreaking post.

The Hits Radio host opened up about her daughter's difficult goodbye to her father, saying that both toddler Mia and doting dad Gorka burst into tears as he went back to work after a "short and sweet" visit of 24 hours. To mark Gorka being home the trio had another Pancake Day together.

"Papa being home was short and sweet, especially with Pancakes. (We had another pancake day together)," wrote Gemma as she shared snaps of father and daughter in the kitchen on her Instagram. "Mia is always ok when Gorks is packing and saying bye, but every time, right before he gets in his car she bursts into tears Then that makes him do the same!"

Former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress Gemma, whose father David tragically passed away in 2002 when she was 17, added: "It’s always hard and I guess something we’re hoping Mia gets used too. I know how it feels missing your dad so I feel for her so much. And I miss her after just one night away so I know it’s hard for Gorka too. "So many families have similar or partners away for even longer so it’s nice in some ways to know we’re all in it together."

But after another stint away, Gorka is back at the family's Greater Manchester home and is clearly enjoying quality time with his daughter. Taking to her Instagram Story on Tuesday morning (March 7), Gemma shared a video of her Spanish husband-to-be doing Mia's hair.

The TV could be heard in the background which led to Gemma, from Bury, revealing: "Spanish only in the house in the mornings." She then added: "Actually helps me as well," alongside a crying laughing emoji.

She then shared another video as she asked Mia: "What do you say?" to which she replied: "Gracias," as Gemma praised her "big girl". But while she may be learning Spanish to keep up with her Bilbao-born dad, she is still taking after her mum.

Sharing a video of her daughter playing on her Instagram Story on Monday (March 6), Gemma typed: "Obsessed with playing 'pre school,'" the mum-of-one, from Bury, shared." She's going to be mother hen to her little brother," Gemma said before adding: "The poor little fella," alongside a crying laughing emoji.

And she also picked up on her daughter's developing accent which is often the talk of fans when Gemma shared videos on Instagram. "P.s. 'Earlyehhh'. She's so Manc," Gemma cheered before adding: "Sorry Gorks."
