Gemma Atkinson shares hilarious supermarket moment with daughter Mia as Gorka Marquez makes admission ahead of baby number two

Gemma Atkinson couldn't help but laugh as she recalled a recent incident in the supermarket with her young daughter who rightly followed her mum's orders but could have left her red-faced in the process.

The Hits Radio host is currently enjoying her last week on the airwaves with her co-host Mike Toolan ahead of going on maternity leave. Gemma, 38, is expecting her second child with her Strictly Come Dancing star fiance Gorka Marquez and shared the wonderful news with fans back in January.

The loved-up couple, who also share a three-year-old daughter, Mia, are now counting down the days to the arrival of baby number two, which they confirmed is a boy and is due in the summer.

And as she counts down to her maternity leave, Gemma was heard speaking on the Hits Radio Drivetime show about a moment from a recent shopping trip. "I was in the supermarket this morning with Mia and do you know how kids like to embarrass you? They're just so innocent aren't they," the Bury-born star started.

"Do you know how I told you on air a few days ago about my little pregnancy issue? That rhymes with 'mile'? Sore botty... I mean, I might as well name the thing that's there," she laughed before continuing: "Anyway we went to the supermarket and I'd said to Mia before we got there, I said, 'remind me I need to get that cream'."

Gemma explained how they had whizzed around the supermarket and had headed to the checkout. "Then I said to her, 'Any items we couldn't scan?' because I like to get her involved and she went, 'nope!' so I pressed 'no' [on the screen]."

But Mia appeared to have a quick memory rush and Gemma shared how her daughter shouted: "Oh, we forgot your bum cream!" Mike laughed as the former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale star recalled how the lady at the checkout chuckled before pointing her in the direction of the right aisle when she headed back to get it.

Hits Radio captioned the clip as it was posted to Instagram: "It’s @glouiseatkinson last week before she prepares for a new addition to her family!" They added: "In the meantime, enjoy this story about bum cream."

Gemma has since taken to her own Instagram profile to share a sweet video of Mia's preparations for becoming a big sister. The toddler could be seen instructing her mum how to change a nappy as she practised on her own doll. "Our little helper in waiting @gorka_marquez," the mum-of-two-to-be captioned the post.

And Gorka was quick to respond as he quipped in the comments: "Better than me lol," alongside crying laughing emojis. Emmerdale star Michelle Hardwick, who welcomed her second child last year, also responded, writing in the comments: "Love her! Such a big help! Teddy flings a nappy at me for Betty now and again."

Former Hollyoaks actor Anthony Quinlan also replied: "Aww. She’s going to be the best big sister." And fans were also cooing over the sweet video. @angelahailes wrote: "Looks like you will be able to put your feet up and rest once baby has arrived."

@nickimac78 said: "Oh my god I just love her! Her little accent and the things she comes out with are adorable! You guys have done an amazing job with her Gemma." @sarah.louise123 replied: "Wow, bless her. She’ll be an amazing big sister." @thickthighs_no_lies added: "Who here thinks that Mia has a future as an actress like @glouiseatkinson. Big sister is going to be the BEST helper."
