Gemma Atkinson's two-word response to Gorka's risqué routine with Helen Skelton on BBC Strictly

Gemma Atkinson watched on proudly as her fiancé, Gorka Marquez topped the Strictly Come Dancing leaderboard with Helen Skelton.

Helen took to the dancefloor with an energetic and fun performance to Mein Herr from Cabaret. The 39-year-old presenter and Gorka did a couple's choice - meaning they did not have to do a traditional dance this time.

Helen received a standing ovation from judge Shirley Ballas and generally good reviews from the judges. Shirley said: "Am I looking at a mummy of three? Am I looking at a young lady that has grown from a timid shy girl from week one to this sensual performance, I've got goosebumps... it was a memory I'll treasure forever."

Craig Revel Horwood got booed by the audience for criticising Helen for not using her centre in the dance. He also said: "You've done one of the most brilliant jobs with (Bob) Fosse's stuff that I've seen."

Helen and Gorka were also praised by Gorka's partner Gemma Atkinson. Gemma was a contestant in the 2017 series of Strictly, where she was coupled up with professional dancer Aljaž Škorjanec.

Retweeting a clip of Helen and Gorka's performance, Gemma added a string of applause emojis. Over on Instagram, Gemma shared a close-up video of Helen, with the two-word message: "Yes girl."

She added: "It was the subtle middle finger for me." Helen earned 39 points from the judges, leaving her joint first on the leaderboard with Coronation Street actor Will Mellor.
