Gemma Atkinson was seen crying in the Strictly Come Dancing audience on Saturday night, being moved to tears as Helen Skelton paid tribute to the ex Hollyoaks star's other half Gorka Marquez.
Gemma, who made it all the way to the Strictly final herself back in 2017, actually competing against Gorka as he bid for victory alongside Alexandra Burke, has been right behind him and Helen throughout their time on the BBC show, regularly posting support for them on her Instagram story.
Hours before the Strictly final, Gemma made a very forward request to reigning champion Giovanni Pernice to 'hand over' the Glitterball trophy to Gorka and then headed to the studio to see him and Helen go for the win with three performances. And, it was after their last routine, a reprise of their amazing Couple's Choice dance to Mein Herr, that Gemma became emotional.

The tears started rolling for the radio host when Helen took the time to give Gorka credit, saying: "I get lots of credit, but you (Gorka) my friend have been in three finals for a reason. You are a credit to this show. You help everybody; everyone in the final's had tips from you, you are a credit to tour family to Gemma and Mia and I am very grateful to you for guiding me through this adventure."
As applause sounded out in response to Helen's speech, the camera then cut to Gemma crying in the audience as she too clapped.
Gorka then paid tribute to Helen, saying: "I knew she had potential, but she just needed to believe in her. From day one she has grown so much and I think that's what Strictly is about."
