Gemma Atkinson has shared with fans after being asked about her daughter Mia's sleep routine. The Hits Radio host received messages after posting a video on Instagram of Mia 'full of beans' on Monday night.
The former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks star says she and her fiance Gorka Marquez don't have a strict bedtime routine for two-year-old Mia. The 37-year-old actress and broadcaster says her daughter is thriving and she's happy to let her stay up until 9pm if she isn't tired.
"I've had lots of messages about Mia running around last night. Some people asking what time she usually goes to bed because obviously it was quite late," said Gemma.

She explained: "We don't really follow a strict routine with bedtime. For me it's if she's tired. I'm not going to force her to sleep if she's not tired because it just causes a load of havoc."
Gemma, who welcomed her first child with Strictly Come Dancing pro Gorka in July 2019, says Mia usually wakes up between 7.30am and 8am. And she starts 'winding down' between 8pm and 8.30pm. The star from Bury told fans that Mia gets 10 hours of sleep and Gemma gets eight.
She said: "I kind of try and fit her into my routine. If I'm going out she can fall asleep on a bed on a load of coats like I used to do when I was little. She's kind of fit perfectly into our routine and that's why it works for us."
Gemma added: "That being said I have friends who are so strict on the dot with their kids' sleeping and that's worked perfect for them. Whatever works for you and your family really."
Gemma continued: "I'm quite chilled with it all. My mum was always quite chilled with us though. I was told when Mia was little I had to wake her every so many hours for food. If she's hungry she'll wake herself up won't she? And she did.
"Some nights she'll go 'oh mum I'm tired' and that's 7.30pm, sometimes 8.30pm and 9pm. As long as she gets her sleep and she's eating and resting I'm all good."
Last month Gemma shared a cute video on her Instagram of the family on Tenerife. Her followers noticed that Mia had picked up an accent from her famous mum.
And many also clocked that Gorka, who is from Bilbao, Spain, also seemed to have adopted a 'Manchester twang.' aliflyhi1 told Gemma: "Gorkz sounds like he’s picked up the manc accent too", sarahparke10 said: "I defo heard Mancunian in Gorka’s speech then!" and josephjones37 chuckled: "Gorka 'where we guwin'?”"
