Gemma Atkinson mum-shamed by cruel trolls after sharing gym routine during pregnancy

Pregnant Gemma Atkinson was mum-shamed by trolls after she shared her gym routine on social media.

The star, who is expecting her second baby with her beau Gorka Marquez, took to her Instagram to share a clip of her glute-focused workout.

"Glute focused today with bands only," she said in the caption.

"Strong glutes in pregnancy helps with lower back pain and helps support the pelvis so I’m all for it! Anything to help keep this little fella supported."

The 38-year-old went on to explain her exact workout, which ended with a slow walk on the treadmill.

"150 monster walks (broken into 3 sets of 50) Standing fire hydrant (60 on each side. 3 sets of 20)," she said. "3x 15 prisoner good mornings.

"Lateral wall sit 30 secs each side for 3 mins in total. These look easy but they wreck if done correctly. Drive your knee into the wall to activate the quad and glute."

She added: "Finished with 5 rounds superset of 1 min walk into 30 box step ups.

"Nice little burner and felt good to move again as I haven’t trained since Monday. Slowly and steady bumping along at my own pace."

Some viewers were concerned by her gym post and took to the comment section to criticise her.

"Give that baby a rest man !," one user said while another added: "Please don't over do things...it worries me."

Another person complained: "Gemma please don’t over do it."

"Well done, but I’m worried you exercising too much." one concerned user said.

According to the NHS, it's okay to exercise while pregnant. The site said 'exercise is not dangerous for the baby.'

"Exercise is not dangerous for your baby. There is some evidence that active women are less likely to experience problems in later pregnancy and labour," the NHS said.

Gemma is expecting her second child with her fiancé Gorka Marquez and is already mother to three-year-old Mia.

Following the arrival of her daughter, Gemma revealed she had a difficult childbirth and almost died as she started haemorrhaging in labour and her daughter's heart rate began to drop.

And as the birth of her second baby steadily approaches, Gemma has revealed that she has been riddled with anxieties about giving birth again.

"I've just had a visit from Rachel my lovely midwife. We have just been taking about birth options and things moving forward. All lovely positive stuff and lots of positive affirmations which we're focusing on," Gemma told her followers.

"We're getting everything mentally in place. Physically, I can do this but mentally, it's like hitting a wall in a workout. I need to just push through," she added.
