Gorka Marquez's birthday celebrations are tinged with a bit of sadness for his wife-to-be Gemma Atkinson. The Strictly Come Dancing professional is marking turning 32 on Sunday (September 4) and it couldn't have landed at a better time as he's currently enjoying time at home after being away for work.
Gorka has been away filming for the BBC One dance contest ahead of the show's big return later this month. But the Spanish dancer made his way back to Greater Manchester, his honourary home, where he lives with Gemma, 37, and their three-year-old daughter, Mia.
"The 4:00 am alarm was worth it the surprise face in Mia this morning," Gorka penned on Instagram earlier this week alongside a cute photo of him cuddling up to his daughter before sharing a selfie of the family-of-three back together. And fans thought it was the sweetest.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Gemma posted a series of snaps of her beau, who she met when she took part in Strictly 2017, before gushing over him with a sweet birthday message. One phot showed Gorka posing in just a pair of denim blue jeans, showing off his ripped torso and huge back and arm tattoos.
Others showed Gorka with his beloved daughter as a baby as well as on a recent holiday as they walked along side by side from the beach. And Gemma also included some loved-up selfies of the pair, who got engaged last year when Gorka dropped to one knee with a sparkling ring on Valentine's Day.
"Happiest of Birthdays to you! @gorka_marquez Thank you for all you do for us," Gemma penned but she did point out that she was having to miss out on something rather crucial to birthday celebrations. "The first Birthday you’re actually home and I can’t even eat any cake with this wisdom tooth," she wrote.
The Bury-born star ended her post: "I hope you have the best day. We love you so much." Gorka was quick to respond to the post, simply writing: "I love you both," as the messages for the birthday boy came flooding in.
As Gemma alluded to, Gorka's return home couldn't have come at a better time as she's been left in agony after undergoing an emergency procedure earlier this week. The Hits Radio host had to have her wisdom tooth removed after suffering from toothache. Gemma struggled to speak to the camera as she sat in her car after leaving the dentist where she had to be squeezed in for an appointment.
After completing work on the radio, she headed home and returned to Instagram to thank fans for their messages before adding: "I've genuinely never had pain like this. I thought it would just be a case of pop it out, a few painkillers." But taking to Instagram on Friday night (September 2), it appears things haven't quite yet settled down for the former Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actress.
"What's so funny is I currently look like I've been whacked in the face," she penned. "And I'm shooting my autumn drop for @inthestyle on Tues." The mum-of-one then joked: "May have to change it to a boxing range."
