Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf has stressed the depth of the historical strategic relations between the GCC and Egypt, the Saudi Press Agency reported Sunday.
Al-Hajraf praised Egypt’s important role in promoting security and stability in the region, it said.
This came during a meeting with the Egyptian Ambassador at the GCC headquarters in Riyadh.
Al-Hajraf and the diplomat discussed bilateral ties and means to support and enhance them, in light of the MoU signed between the two sides in February 2022, and the importance of activating its provisions to serve common interests.
The Secretary-General, who also reviewed developments and issues of mutual concern in the region and the world, praised Egypt’s efforts in supporting the truce in Yemen and backing all efforts that aim to ensure security and stability, and an end to the country’s conflict, SPA added.
