The Great British Bake Off tent was filled with drama from the off on tonight's episode as one of the contestants made a rookie error. Sandro forgot to turn his oven on during the first task.
The bakers were tasked with making a party favourite - rough puff pastry vol-au-vents. But Paul and Pru made the task a little bit trickier by asking the bakers to make their vol-au-vents sweet rather than savoury.
Sandro had initially admitted he was chasing a handshake from Paul Hollywood but soon found his dreams dashed. And he was left devastated when he realised his oven wasn't hot.
Bake Off fans took to Twitter to share their emotions. Paul Gibbons (@funkygibbons) said: "I mean the number one thing you have to remember with any baking is to turn on the oven."
Duncan Gates (@Duncan_Gates) added: "All that time spent saying 'lime jam' when you could have been switching on the oven." But Isla (@dreamsfromeden) had a different view. She said: "Starting to suspect that there's a Bake Off pixie that goes around switching the ovens off."
But despite his basic mistake, Sandro's fans were still going wild for the muscular baker - particularly when they noticed he was wearing leather trousers.
Ryan Love (@RyanJL) gave Sandro his full support, saying: "Sandro deserves a place in the semi-final purely for those leather trousers." While Pritha Bardhan (@PrithaBardhan) added: "Sandro’s wearing black leather trousers… just saying…"
