Gavin and Stacey star signed up by This Morning to host brand new mini-series

Gavin and Stacey star Joanna Page has been signed up by This Morning to host a mini-series for the show.

Set Jetting will see the Welsh actress travel across the UK and Europe next month to locations featured in movies and on telly.

Joanna told the Mirror: “Gavin and Stacey put Barry Island on the map when it burst on to our screens in 2007 and in the UK – and apparently almost half of us would consider visiting a destination after seeing it on a show or movie.”

The four-part series will feature locations for films and TV shows including Harry Potter, Troy, The Railway Children, Gladiator, Paddington, Downton Abbey, The Crown and James Bond.

Joanna added: “I am exploring some of the top filming locations in Europe.

“Whether it be busy train stations, sleepy Yorkshire towns or historical buildings, virtually anywhere can be the setting for your favourite film and TV.

“In this series I’m going to be visiting some of my favourites.”

A source close to the show added: “Joanna is a huge fan of This Morning, having been a viewer for many years, and is utterly thrilled to be a small part of the on-screen family for this mini-series.”

Recent stats showed 46 per cent of travellers considered going to a place after seeing it on TV.

Joanna already has a This Morning connection, having co-hosted ITV ’s The Pet Show with Dermot O’Leary.

He and his This Morning co-host Alison Hammond will be teaming up with Coronation Street on Friday, May 5, ahead of King Charles’s Coronation for a 150-minute live broadcast special.

Dermot said: “I cannot think of a more iconic way to spend a Friday hosting with Alison and delivering a show like this ahead of the King’s Coronation.

“We will definitely be bringing the party to Manchester that day.”

* This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 & ITVX.
