Gavin and Stacey fans issue demand as James Corden quits Late Late Show

Fans of BBC's Gavin and Stacey are hopeful for a return of the show.

The comedic sitcom ended in 2010 and returned for a record-breaking Christmas special in 2019. A cliff-hanger ending had fans hoping for more, but it never came.

Now James Corden, who helped to write the popular BBC show, has announced that he is leaving his current post presenting The Late Late Show over in the States. It is believed he will return to the UK to be with his family. This has brought hope back to fans once more as they continue to demand more from Gavin and Stacey.

It has been a hot topic on Twitter today as fans have begged for the show's return. Jack said: "Give us another series of Gavin and Stacey" followed by a praying emoji.

Mr White said: "So James Corden moving back to U.K. basically means more Gavin and Stacey?" Jumbo said: "@JKCorden is leaving Late night television. Hopefully that will give him time to go back to being Smithy on #GavinandStacey."

Tommy said: "I smell a Gavin and Stacey Christmas special!" Meanwhile, Peter said: "With #JamesCorden quitting #LateLateShow, I wonder if we'll see a #GavinAndStacey special or even a fourth series being in the pipeline?"

James promised to “go out with a bang” after announcing he will depart The Late Late Show next year. Speaking on the show he said while tearing up: "When I started this journey it was always going to be just that, it was going to be a journey, an adventure.

"I never saw it as my final destination, and I never want this show to overstay its welcome. I always want to love making it. I really think in a year from now that will be a good time to move on to see what else is out there. We are all determined to make this the best year we have ever had. We are going to go out with a bang."
