A gauging systems manufacturer that supplies the South West’s aerospace sector has moved to a new office as it looks to grow its headcount.
Third Dimension specialises in both hand-held and automated measurement equipment and works with engineering industry giants such as its neighbours in Filton near Bristol, Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
The business, founded in 1995, has now moved to a new base within Brabazon Office Park, where it was already operating from, with its new office located next to Airbus and GKN Aerospace offices.
The company currently employs 23 staff and has plans to recruit four more, three of which will be based in South Gloucestershire.
The re-location follows Third Dimension’s creation of a new application engineering team to deepen its technical expertise and strengthen its customer support resource at the new base which is home to assembly, calibration and office functions.
Third Dimension said it came after the firm posted “strong” sales in overseas markets for its products, which it manufactures in the UK.
Chief executive Francois Froment said: “Operating more smartly is at the heart of everything Third Dimension do, and we are now in a strong position to step up our ability to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for the automotive, aerospace, energy, and consumer goods manufacturing sectors.
“The move is driven by a complete change of work behaviour post-Covid, and by our commitment to sustainability because our new premises will help us to reduce our carbon footprint. While we are only moving next door, this is a statement of intent for us, enabling us to adapt and respond to demand, taking advantage of new opportunities.”
