A dangerous thug robbed a delivery driver at knifepoint just nine days after being released from prison on licence for stabbing a father and son.
Daniel Orrick, who has an "appalling record for violence", lured the victim to an address in Gateshead then pushed a knife into his stomach area when it came to paying for the pizza he had just been handed. He threatened to kill the victim and even stabbed at his car after he sought refuge in the vehicle.
Now the 30-year-old, who had been released early from a 64 month sentence for wounding with intent on two victims, is back behind bars.

Newcastle Crown Court heard the driver was working for a Gateshead pizza firm when he responded to an order to the Allerdene area just before 11pm on November 30 last year. People at the house told him they had not ordered food so he rang the number used to request it and a woman told him her boyfriend would come and get it.
Kevin Wardlaw, prosecuting, said: "He waited in the car and the defendant knocked on the car window, asking if he had the food. He got out of the car and handed it to the defendant then waited for payment.
"The defendant, who had his face partly covered with a hood, reached into his pocket and pulled out a knife and pushed it into the stomach of the complainant. It came into contact with his phone in his pocket, preventing it from cutting him.
"He said 'just go away or I will kill you'. The complainant ran to the passenger side and locked himself in. The defendant started stabbing at the car window shouting 'I will kill you'."
The victim managed to get into the driver's seat and drove off. Police traced the number used to place the order and when they went to the woman's home they found the remains of the stolen food.
Orrick, 30, of Hertford, Gateshead, was not present but was later arrested. It was noted that he had a knee brace on and walked with a limp, as did the attacker, who was caught on CCTV carrying a large kitchen knife.
The victim said in a statement read to the court: "I'm now considering resigning from the job I've done for 12 years. I'm frightened this will happen again. I was scared he was going to stab me over some food."
The court heard Orrick has 30 previous convictions. In August 2011 he was given a community order for possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
In 2015 he was given a suspended sentence for robbery and attempted robbery after targeting tills in shops, including physically struggling with a staff member. In 2016 he was jailed for 38 months for attempted robbery after entering a shop with a knife and threatening staff.
Then later that year, while in prison, he assaulted a female custody officer, grabbing her by the throat and holding something to her neck until other prisoners stopped him.
In 2019 he stabbed a father and son at a wake and was jailed again. He had been released on licence from that 64 month sentence nine days before he committed the latest offences.
He pleaded guilty to robbery and possessing an offensive weapon and was jailed for five years with an extended licence period of three years. Judge Stephen Earl said he was a dangerous offender and added: "He has an appalling record for violence and significantly the previous offence was a knife offence where substantial injuries were caused.
"He is a prolific and violent offender who's not afraid of using a weapon. Had it not been for the mobile phone and the car it could have been a much more significant set of offending. This was a mean and violent offence."
Rachel Hedworth, defending, said he had consumed a large amount of alcohol and non prescription medication before the offences and is remorseful. She added that he comes from a supportive and law-abiding family.
