Police have launched an investigation after a string of vandalism attacks on a pavilion building close to a Tyneside community centre.
Officers from the force are asking members of the public to come forward, should they have information on damages caused to the building next door to Birtley Community Centre on Ravensworth Road.
Offenders have broken into the site on three separate occasions over the course of February, causing serious damage to the building.
These crimes reportedly took place overnight on Monday, February 6, Friday, February 10 and Friday, February 17.
Police say that locks have been cut by offenders, shutters have been removed and windows, furniture, toilets and doors have all been damaged by the break ins.
In-turn, a full-scale investigation is now taking place into the damages, with officers warning that anyone found responsible will be dealt with "swiftly and appropriately".
Anyone with information regarding the incidents should contact Northumbria Police either via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of their website or by calling 101 and quoting either 016445T/23, 019721E/23 or 022028B/23.
