Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan v Erislandy Lara start time, TV and Streaming information, news, betting odds and more

Gary 'Spike' O'Sullivan competes in the biggest fight of his life when he takes on Erislandy Lara for the WBA (Regular) Middleweight title this evening.

O'Sullivan (31-4-0) has enjoyed a remarkable career up to this point and has only lost four times in his career. Each defeat was to top class competitors like Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jr, and at 37 years old, tonight could be his final chance to win a world title.

Lara (28-3-3) is also entering the twilight of his career. The Cuban great is 39 years old and his list of past opponents includes Austin Trout and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez.

Quotes corner

O'Sullivan on fighting Lara at the right time:

“I think it would have been an absolute nightmare ten years ago, to be honest, for me in there with him, or for anybody with him, really,” said O’Sullivan.

“He's on the decline, I think,” adds O’Sullivan. “But he's still a great fighter and a top challenge for anybody. He arguably may have won all those fights he lost, and he's a great fighter, but it's better to get him now than ten years ago, for sure.”

And O'Sullivan had some harsh word for Conor McGregor when he sat down for an interview with Roddy Collins this week:

“He wouldn’t (Call me out). Not a hope. He wouldn’t fight me at all. No chance.

100 percent. Not a hope in hell.

I would slaughter him. He just wouldn’t be in the same league in a boxing match.”
