Gary Neville has tipped Ralf Rangnick to step aside as Manchester United manager at the end of the season.
The German took over on an interim basis at Old Trafford after his predecessor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.
He was put in place until the end of the campaign by which point he would move into an advisory role at the Theatre of Dreams.
However, Rangnick has not ruled out in the past staying on beyond the current campaign.
Back in December, the German joked: "Maybe if they ask my opinion and everything goes well and we develop the team I might even make the same recommendation to the board that I did at Leipzig twice when I recommended it might be a good idea to keep working with me for one year."
Despite this, Neville believes that Rangnick would be best stepping to one side come the summer.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: "I don't think he gets the job at the end of the season come what may now.
"I think that there was a feeling that if he went like that [gesturing upwards] that could happen. That isn't going to happen, Manchester United will have a new manager next season."
He added: "I think he will [have a say on who the new manager is] because he has got a real good view of the personalities, characters, performance levels, training levels of the current group of players so he is in a strong position to be able to advise."

Manchester Evening News understands that PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag from Ajax are the two leading contenders to replace Solskjaer in the hot-seat, with United working towards a permanent appointment before the end of the campaign.
