Gary Neville tips Leeds United or Everton to go down as he delivers relegation prediction

Gary Neville believes that Everton or Leeds United could go down this season as he delivers his verdict on the Premier League relegation battle. The Whites currently sit 16th in the table, seven points clear of the drop zone after securing back-to-back wins over Wolves and Norwich City before the international break.

Those two results have given the Whites a much better chance of staying in the division. Jesse Marsch had come under some criticism so early into his tenure after Leeds were comprehensively beaten by Aston Villa - a defeat that put them on the brink of dropping into the bottom three. But they have managed to bounce back ahead of the run-in.

Meanwhile, Everton are far closer towards the relegation zone, having picked up just 25 points from 27 games this term. However, a vital 1-0 win over Newcastle United on March 31 has given them a boost in their pursuit of survival. The Toffees are currently three points above the drop zone but do have three games in hand on Leeds and Brentford.

Although both sides sit in the two spots above the bottom three, Neville has a feeling that Burnley and Watford could still get out of danger given the experience of their managers. Sean Dyche and Roy Hodgson have previously guided teams to survival despite being cut-adrift. And Neville doesn't thing it is over yet.

He told The Overlap: "I think Everton or Leeds could go down. Leeds' win over Wolves was massive to make it back-to-back wins, that could save them.

"But I do think there is something in both of those squads where you think they could go. I look at Sean Dyche and Roy Hodgson and I think they know what is going on here.

"Something could happen at Watford, Roy has done it before with Fulham where they managed to get out of it on the final day. I do thing something could happen and one of you could get dragged in."
