Gary Neville has slammed Chelsea’s “chaotic” business in the opening stages of the Todd Boehly-Clearlake Capital era.

The club have undergone a major restructure behind the scenes following May’s takeover amid a number of high-profile appointments.

Christopher Vivell recently became the newest arrival and is in as sporting director, forming a transfer ‘think tank’ alongside the likes of Joe Shields, Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley.

Now, the Blues look set to continue spending despite a record-breaking outlay over the course of the summer, with both Enzo Fernandez and Mykhaylo Mudryk big-money targets.

Monaco defender Benoit Badiashile is expected to join imminently, following Molde youngster David Datro Fofana through the door ahead of what will be another busy month of activity.

Neville was critical of Boehly during the summer window, labelling the transfer strategy as “pinball” following huge moves for Raheem Sterling, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.

With January once again likely to see Chelsea busy, Neville told Sky Sports: “The ownership’s not settled at Chelsea, it’s chaotic. Has been from minute one."
