Gary Neville has demanded Joel Glazer to keep his promise and speak to Manchester United fans directly about the club.
The club’s owners have been conspicuous by their absence this season during what has been a dismal campaign for United. Avram Glazer was seen at Old Trafford back in September in what has been the only appearance by one of the family since fans have returned to the ground following the pandemic.
United supporters have regularly shown their displeasure at the ownership of the club, with protests having occurred regularly during their tenure. The relationship hit a nadir when United’s involvement in the failed European Super League was confirmed last year, sparking outrage among fans.

Apologising to fans following the collapse of the competition, Joel Glazer committed to “better communicate” with supporters.
"Although the wounds are raw and I understand that it will take time for the scars to heal, I am personally committed to rebuilding trust with our fans and learning from the message you delivered with such conviction,” Glazer said. "We also realise that we need to better communicate with you, our fans, because you will always be at the heart of the club.”
But Neville has not been impressed by their efforts so far this season. The former United captain urged Glazer to live up to his promises by making a rare appearance at Old Trafford.
“The reality of it is something big is missing, and it comes from the top,” Neville told Sky Sports. “We heard Joel Glazer say some time ago he was going to engage with the fans. Flights are open Joel, you can get to Manchester.
“Let’s see you over here, let’s see you talk to the fans properly. Explain that vision, you’ve got a new CEO in place, but you can’t just leave it to the new CEO. You’ve got to come over, he said off the back of the Super League he was going to change the way he operated the club, and he was going to come over and see the fans.

“He’s not done. Not that I know of anyway, unless he’s slipped in without me knowing, and not many people slip into Manchester without me knowing! They sent Tom Brady over, which was nice on Saturday, but it’d be nice if they sent themselves over.”
