Gary Neville says Burnley's revival has sent 'a tremor' through the Premier League

Gary Neville believes Burnley's recent revival in form will have come as a real shock to Leeds United as the Whites continue their battle for Premier League survival. Burnley have managed to pull together an incredible run of form of late under caretaker boss Mike Jackson, who has masterminded three consecutive wins on the bounce for the Clarets following the surprise sacking of long-time manager Sean Dyche.

It has seen them climb out of the bottom three having previously looked one of the favourites for relegation, heaping pressure on both Leeds and Everton in the race for survival. Jackson's side face Aston Villa home and away, Spurs and Newcastle on the final day of the season, knowing that a win from one of those four games could be enough to keep them in the Premier League for next season.

And Neville reckons Burnley's recent win, an incredible 2-1 come from behind win against Watford away from home sent a shockwave through the Premier League.

" Burnley's comeback was a surprise. It shocked us and it would have shocked Leeds United," said Neville.

"Burnley fans were respectful of the job Sean Dyche had done. What an amazing job, and I think it is one of the amazing jobs in the Premier League to do what he's done, but actually there was a feeling from Burnley fans that maybe the change was needed to have any chance of staying up.

"That made it feel like it wasn't as big a shock as it was on the ground in Burnley. Maybe that was actually the case because we've seen what has happened since, which is absolutely incredible.

"They've got a spirit Burnley and we've always known that. Dyche has put that into those players, but if the same voice of the manager has talking to the players every day for a large number of years there comes a point whereby the manager is tired of talking to the players and the players are tired of hearing from that manager.

"Burnley have given themselves a chance. From somewhere, they've galvanised, they've brought it all together and that was a massive win moment at Watford. It was like a shock wave, a tremor through the Premier League, particularly at the bottom."
