Gary Neville has accused Manchester United of failing to prepare adequately for Michael Olise's late free-kick after the Crystal Palace man struck right at the death to pinch a share of the spoils for Patrick Vieira's side.
United were cruising after taking the lead through Bruno Fernandes on the stroke of half-time, but they were pegged back by Olise's wonder strike in the final moments at Selhurst Park.
The result means United are eight points adrift of Arsenal at the summit of the Premier League ahead of their mouthwatering showdown with the Gunners on Sunday.
United headed to south London on a nine-match winning streak, but Olise's last-gasp strike prevented United from making it 10 in a row against the Eagles.
And Neville, who was less than impressed after the match, promptly pointed out that United failed to acknowledge the danger Olise posed late in the match and insisted that their defensive wall should have been bigger.
Reacting on social media, Neville tweeted: "That wall was never big enough. Always going to shoot!". Responding to a fan in another tweet, Neville added: "Put the taker off !!! A massive wall with big players in makes it more difficult for a taker! That wall lacked presence and made it look inviting!"
Casemiro, Fred and second-half substitute Alejandro Garnacho lined up in the wall in a bid to thwart Olise but the Palace winger fizzed a stunning strike beyond David de Gea to halt United's winning run.
Ten Hag was also left annoyed following Olise's late strike after his side failed to make the most of numerous chances to kill the game off during the second-half. And he admitted that the onus was on United to do more after Fernandes' strike on the stroke of the half-time interval had nudged them into a strong position.

Speaking after the match, the Dutchman said: "We had control of the game. We had to invest more in the second. At 2-0 it would be over. Then you get hammered with an unlucky moment.
"We were 1-0 up. In the second half we had a lot of space to kill them and go for the second. I never saw we really went for the second goal. I have to criticise my team. Go for the second."
United suffered another blow in the final stages at Selhurst Park when Casemiro picked up his fifth yellow card of the season - meaning he will miss Sunday's crunch clash at Arsenal.
But Ten Hag backed his side to get the job done against Arsenal again without the Brazilian, who didn't play when United beat the Gunners earlier in the season. He said: "The last time we beat Arsenal without Casemiro so this time we need to do the same. The booking was instinctive. He missed the ball. It’s quite clear it could have been a dangerous situation. He wanted to stop it and that was his reaction."
