Gary Neville mocks Todd Boehly's Chelsea decision to sack Thomas Tuchel amid Man Utd comparison

Gary Neville has mocked Todd Boehly's decision to part ways with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel after the £250million plus spend that was sanctioned in the summer transfer window.

The Blues have started off the 2022/23 campaign indifferently. Despite the most recent Dinamo Zagreb embarrassment in the Champions League, the decision in parting ways with the German was already made. Strangely enough, it came after Boehly had given Tuchel more responsibility in the transfer market to shape and mould Chelsea's long-term strategy. A few days after the window closes, in what looks to be a U-turn from the original plan, he is gone.

A statement from the Club reads: "Chelsea Football Club has today parted company with head coach Thomas Tuchel. "On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, the Club would like to place on record its gratitude to Thomas and his staff for all their efforts during their time with the Club. Thomas will rightly have a place in Chelsea's history after winning the Champions League, the Super Cup and Club World Cup in his time here.

"As the new ownership group reaches 100 days since taking over the Club, and as it continues its hard work to take the Club forward, the new owners believe it is the right time to make this transition.

"Chelsea's coaching staff will take charge of the team for training and the preparation of our upcoming matches as the Club moves swiftly to appoint a new head coach.

"There will be no further comment until a new head coach appointment is made."

Graham Potter and Mauricio Pochettino are the two early frontrunners currently for the vacant position. Whilst the wait goes on to see who is Tuchel's successor, Both he and Jamie Carragher, who have issued brutal verdicts.

He tweeted: 'Todd Woodward'

Neville has, before this, already made his feelings clear on the part LA Dodgers owner, who is spearheading this new consortium set-up. He previously wrote on social media during the transfer window: 'Your man Todd Woodward needs to stop wandering round like a kid in a sweet shop.'
