Gary Neville makes his feelings very clear on Bruno Fernandes snubbing Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United legend Gary Neville appears to have enjoyed Bruno Fernandes' frosty exchange with Cristiano Ronaldo after the pair reunited on international duty with Portugal.

Ronaldo has sent shockwaves through the Red Devils dressing room after multiple trailers for his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan were released on social media, in which he criticises manager Erik ten Hag and bemoans the facilities available to United stars at their Carrington training base.

The comments clearly haven't gone down well with Fernandes, as he was hardly warm and welcoming when bumping into Ronaldo in the national team dressing room before training.

The United duo exchanged a few words, with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner donning a shocked facial expression in response to whatever Fernandes told him.

A quick handshake and cold tap of the arm is enough before Fernandes departs to enjoy more affectionate embraces with other teammates, such as Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix. The pictures were filmed and Neville went to the liberty of re-tweeting the footage, letting his followers know exactly whose side he is on.

It comes just hours after comments from Ronaldo on Neville's punditry and analysis were aired in the interview trailer with Piers Morgan Uncensored, with the 37-year-old insisting the Sky Sports regular is not his friend before admitting it hurts to hear former teammates talk badly of him.

Ronaldo said, via the Sun : "It's easy to criticise, I don't know if you have a job in television that they must criticise to be more famous. I really don't understand it. It's hard when you see people who was in the dressing room with you criticising that way."

Pressed for comment on the state of their relationship, Ronaldo added: "We're not ever having dinner together."

Neville was quick to address this comment in particular, taking to Twitter to sarcastically ask: "Anyone for dinner?"

This is the latest twist in the tale in regard to Ronaldo and Neville's connection, at the start of the season the United forward was willing to shake hands with his old colleague - but that soon changed.

Emerging from the tunnel for the pre-match warm-up against West Ham at the tail-end of October, Ronaldo decided to greet pundits Louis Saha and Jamie Redknapp but snubbed Neville, which sparked plenty of lighthearted teasing from his fellow former professionals.

It seems Ronaldo is on course to lose just about every ally he once had at Old Trafford, with senior players in the current ranks also reportedly fed up with his antics, Fernandes included. The interview may prove to be the nail in the coffin of his United career.
