Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has promised to wear an Arsenal shirt if the north London outfit win the Premier League title this season. It's a promise that came before the Gunners' clash against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in a key game in the title race.
Arsenal have been looking to bounce back after registering back-to-back draws, with their lead at the top cut from eight points to just four. Manchester City hold a game in hand at this stage as well as a huge head-to-head between the two sides in the next week.
"They’re sort of a steamroller, they just keep on going, City," Neville said on the title chase to Sky Sports. "They’re such a powerhouse, they’ve been here before, experienced, I think they will be looking forward to that game that’s coming at the Etihad next week but the fact they’ve got a favour from Liverpool and West Ham maybe will give them far more confidence than they already have. I think City are just sure about themselves anyway."

During the title race this season, Neville has caught plenty of criticism for his assessments on Arsenal from supporters. In response, the former Manchester United man has vowed that he will wear an Arsenal shirt once again if the Gunners win the Premier League this season - pointing reference to a picture of him wearing one as a youngster.
"He said he'd wear an Arsenal shirt, didn't he?" Jamie Carragher said, brandishing a green Arsenal kit. "If Arsenal win the league," Neville responded. "That's what he's said he's gonna wear again," Carragher responded as Arsenal fans from the crowd started to boo the defender holding up the kit.
It remains to be seen as to whether that promise will go through, though priorities for those of an Arsenal persuasion will be winning the league first and foremost.
