Gary Neville has ‘had enough’ of ‘whinging’ Bruno Fernandes after Manchester United humiliation

Gary Neville says he has “had enough” of Bruno Fernandes following Manchester United’s loss at Liverpool.

The Portuguese international captained his team at Anfield but proved unable to stop a 7-0 defeat at the hands of their greatest rivals.

Fernandes missed a glorious opportunity to give his side the lead before Cody Gakpo’s opener by putting a diving header wide from close range.

The Dutch forward, Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez all scored braces before Roberto Firmino added a late seventh in the dying embers of the game.

While the midfielder was not the only issue, Neville took umbrage to Fernandes’ attitude throughout the game.

The former United captain turned Sky Sports pundit tore into the 28-year-old for appearing to feign an injury when grabbing his face following a tackle from Ibrahima Konate.

“There were things I saw in that second half which were a disgrace,” he said.

“I’m going to start with Bruno Fernandes because honestly I’ve had enough of him throwing his arms around at his teammates.

“I’ve had enough of him not running back. He whinges at everybody.

“He got pushed in the chest and goes down holding his face, he’s got to put in a captain’s performance out there.

“That wasn’t a captain’s performance by a Manchester United player.”
