Former captain Gary Neville believes that Harry Kane would be a 'great signing' for Manchester United amid their interest in his signature.
United, as reported by the Manchester Evening News on Saturday, are monitoring Kane's future at Tottenham Hotspur ahead of this forthcoming summer. The Reds are set to prioritise the addition of a new striker ahead of next season and Kane has just 18 months left on his current deal in north London.
The Reds, who have added to their attacking ranks this month with the loan signing of Burnley striker Wout Weghorst, are long-term admirers of Kane and will fancy their chances of extracting him from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer, especially if they have secured Champions League qualification for next season. The England captain is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal and the prospect of Spurs losing him for free in the summer of 2024 could force them into a reluctant sale this year.

United have made significant progress under Erik ten Hag so far this season but have lacked a world-class striker that they can rely on at the top end of the pitch. And for former right-back Neville, who is a big fan of Kane, the 29-year-old would be an ideal fit at Old Trafford.
"Harry Kane improves every single team in Europe, every single team in the world," Neville told Sky Sports. "He is a wonderful striker and a great professional.
"It would be obvious [for United to try and sign him]. You look at Manchester United and they are still playing with Anthony Martial up front.
"They have brought Weghorst in, who is a stop-gap until the end of the season and no more. They have obviously lost Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani from last season, so they have got real problems in that area.
"They haven't got what I would class as a natural centre-forward that gives them the sort of play that Erik ten Hag wants. They need to sign a striker, they need to spend big-money on a striker or unearth somebody from somewhere, and I can't see where that is coming from.
"Kane would be a great signing, but getting him out of Tottenham is not going to be easy."
