Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher respond after Everton striker Richarlison’s late night Twitter blast

Everton forward Richarlison blasted Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher after Frank Lampard’s side confirmed their Premier League safety by beating Crystal Palace on Thursday night.

A late Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal rounded off a remarkable comeback at Goodison Park, sparking a pitch invasion at full-time.

Richarlison had drawn the teams level after Palace raced into a two-goal lead in the first-half and appeared to respond to Carragher’s tweet about him earlier in the night.

Now deleted, the former Liverpool defender wrote: “Talking about Richarlison going down is nothing to do with bias

“Every Everton game I do he goes down three or four times like he’s got a big injury then just gets up! It’s not about getting a penalty or a foul but pretending he’s hurt when he’s not.”

Fresh from the dramatic scenes on Merseyside, the 25-year-old would respond with a late-night tweet of his own: “Wash your mouth before you talk about me and Everton and I don’t respect you” with an accompanying emoji.

Carragher, in response, would write: “I actually quite like this, if Twitter was about when I was a player I’m sure I would’ve called pundits out quite a lot!!”

Fellow pundit Gary Neville, meanwhile, would join in.

Everton now travel to Arsenal on Sunday safe in the knowledge that they cannot be dragged into the relegation battle on the final day of the season with only Leeds and Burnley now capable of joining Norwich and Watford in next season’s Championship.
