Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have been involved in a rather public disagreement over Cristiano Ronaldo's return to Manchester United.
Ronaldo has reportedly asked to be allowed to leave United if a satisfactory offer comes forward this summer. The 37-year-old's decision is said to be based on his desire to play in the Champions League, though MEN Sport understands United have no intention of selling him this summer.
The future of last season's top goalscorer has been the source of constant speculation since he returned to Old Trafford. After news of his possible exit was reported by The Times, former Liverpool defender and Sky Sports pundit Carragher took to Twitter to showcase his amusement at the update and pinpointed a comment he got right. He wrote: "Ronaldo did exactly what I thought he would do, score goals but make the team worse.

"The transfer request also kills the idea he turned down Man City because of his love for Man United."
Neville, who had backed Ronaldo countless times last season, was quick to reply to his commentating counterpart. "I get it, you're full of yourselves but he can turn down City for United because he likes them more and still want to leave this summer.
"He left before but still loved the club. Enjoy Saturday night and your short period of success."
Carragher then doubled down on his opinion of Ronaldo and United's rivals: "City didn't want him you clown and you're the same fella who kept saying it was like Elvis had arrived in Manchester! Elvis has left the building."
The former United right-back was reluctant to continue with the spat and chose to reply with an Elvis song title, writing: "Little less conversation."
