Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher both believe Liverpool could hunt down Manchester United after the Reds' defeat at West Ham United.
Jurgen Klopp's side moved to within a point of Erik ten Hag's side over the weekend. Liverpool beat Brentford 1-0 at Anfield whilst United fell down by the same score line at the London Stadium.
United still have a game in hand with just three weeks of the Premier League campaign remaining. However, with Ten Hag's men losing momentum, Neville believes Liverpool will sense an opportunity.
"Liverpool will sense a little bit of blood and try and ramp it up," Neville said on the Gary Neville Podcast, speaking before United's defeat to West Ham. "Jurgen Klopp and his players will be going into training tomorrow thinking we have got a chance here.

"They will want to hunt down and make it interesting. There is a job to do for Newcastle and Manchester United but they should have enough in the tank to get over the line."
Carragher was more pessimistic on Liverpool's chance before the United defeat. However, after the Hammers defeat, there is more of an opportunity for Liverpool to sneak ahead.
"The result tonight gives them a glimmer of hope and if West Ham are to get three points against Man United tomorrow, maybe you can start talking about the top four can happen," Carragher said on Saturday.
Likewise, Micah Richards believes the lack of pressure on Liverpool could free them up in the top-four battle. Klopp's side are in much better form with less expectation on their shoulders.
"I am a little bit more confident because there is no pressure, they are not expected to finish in the top four. Now they are just playing with a little bit of freedom and the good thing for Liverpool is that they are not playing like the Liverpool of old, but they are still getting over the line.
"They can go into every game with that confidence - sometimes it is better to chase than having the points on the board psychologically."
