Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher disagree over Leeds United relegation verdict amid 'hardened' claim

Sky Sports pundits Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have disagreed on whether Leeds United will avoid relegation and if they're ready for the battle in the business-end on the season.

The Whites are currently sat in 13th following their 2-1 win over drop zone rivals Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night, having jumped up five places out of the bottom three.

But with the picture around the drop zone so close, as places 12th to 20th are separated by only seven points, Neville believes that Javi Gracia's side will get over the line.

"I don't like doing relegation predictions... but I'll do it for the purpose of the show. Southampton, Bournemouth and I’ve said this for a few months and I watched them last weekend and I’m really worried about them, I feel like Nottingham Forest," he admitted on the Overlap Live Tour.

“I just feel they're a little bit all over the place and I feel worried about the lack of experience dealing with a relegation battle. I just feel like Leeds, Crystal Palace, Everton, Dyche – they’re a bit more hardened.

"I feel like Nottingham Forest could just get dragged into that, I hope they don't, but I think they could. And also, they've spent £180m - that's unbelievable for Forest to spend that amount of money."

While co-host Carragher agreed with Neville's first two choices, he actually ended up picking Leeds to go down - despite their strong turnaround in form in Gracia's short tenure so far.

"I think Bournemouth and Southampton will 100% go down. For the last one, I think it's probably a tossup between Forest and Leeds. I'll probably say Leeds."
