Gary Neville has aimed a dig at Manchester United after watching academy graduate Danny Welbeck make a big impression for Brighton during their opening day victory.
United finished sixth in the Premier League standings last term and missed out on Champions League qualification as a result. It brought about change in the dugout with Erik ten Hag appointed as manager.
Having been handed a tricky assignment against the Seagulls first up, two goals from Pascal Gross did the damage and United slipped to a 2-1 defeat.

However, while the German settled the game, it was Welbeck who set the tone for Brighton with a typically selfless display up front. He caused United captain Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez several problems throughout the 90 minutes.
Welbeck might not have been rewarded with a goal when returning to the place where his top-flight career began, but the former United striker was not far off being awarded the man-of-the-match award at Old Trafford.
Neville was clearly impressed by the 31-year-old former England international and took to social media to praise the Brighton man. Addressing his 5.2million followers, Neville tweeted: "Best United player just leaving the pitch Welbeck."
