Gary Lucy breaks silence on Laura Anderson baby announcement and 'devastating' split

Gary Lucy has broken his silence after ex Laura Anderson announced that she was expecting their first child together.

Yesterday, the former Love Island star shared a sweet Instagram video announcing the lovely news, saying: "Our hearts are full Baby Lucy due Summer ‘23".

But shortly after the announcement, it emerged that the Scots reality star had reportedly split from Gary, shortly after their first scan - leaving Gary, allegedly, devastated.

The Hollyoaks actor - who started a romance with Laura after meeting on Celebs Go Dating, has now addressed the news publicly.

Gary, who already has four children to a previous relationship, commented on Laura's pregnancy announcement post.

He penned: "There she is [love heart emoji], So very proud of you Mummy Bear. cooking Baby Bear perfectly."

According to reports, Laura and Gary called off their relationship after going through a "difficult time".

Gary then confirmed to The Sun that they were not together, but their main focus was their unborn child.

He said: "I love Laura but we are no longer together. My main drive as always is to work together to co-parent our child. I look forward to the arrival of the new baby."

A source said that Gary is completely devastated by the split.

They added: "Gary's been left devastated - he's absolutely heartbroken. They spent Christmas together and he travelled to Glasgow last weekend in a desperate attempt to try to win her back, they enjoyed a meal out and attended their first scan together - but Laura was adamant it's over."

Laura, from Stirling, joined Celebs Go Dating last year after moving home to the UK from Dubai following her split from Dane Bowers.

Laura was desperate for a family and even told her Instagram followers that she and Dane had been going through an IVF process.

Last May, Laura told her 1.5 million followers that she was excited to start the journey.

She said: "Some of you might know that Dane and I have been trying to have a baby - and sort of come into a few obstacles. So we've been lucky enough to visit an incredible doctor the past few weeks and today set in motion our fertility plan if you'd like."

She added: "I'm going to be freezing my eggs initially and Dane's taking some medication. We're just super excited."

However, months later, in August, Laura announced that they had split.

In an Instagram story she said: "Just to let all my beautiful support on here know that unfortunately Dane and I have decided to separate.

"Thank you for all your continued support. Sadly we're just not right for each other but I do wish him nothing but love. I will be moving back to the UK as soon as I can. Roll on the rest of 2022, let's make it count."
