Gary Lineker has lamented VAR after it denied Leicester City a landmark win at Manchester United and they were forced to settle for a point.
Brendan Rodgers' side were eyeing a first ever double over the Red Devils having beaten them at the King Power earlier this season. James Maddison thought he was on course to be the hero when he restored Leicester's lead in the second-half before reeling away to celebrate with the away fans.
His high was short-lived, however, as VAR intervened and advised Andre Marriner to consult the monitor and he subsequently ruled it out. Kelechi Iheanacho was deemed to have fouled Raphael Varane on the edge of the box, but Lineker was less than impressed and he tweeted: "Oh do me a favour."
Leicester had taken the lead just after the hour mark as Iheanacho headed home Maddison's cross. Their advantage didn't last long as Fred levelled the contest on his 100th appearance for United. The Brazilian was quickest to react after Bruno Fernandes ' original effort.
Maddison's strike came with ten minutes remaining, but wasn't allowed to stand. The Foxes playmaker told Sky Sports after the stalemate: “The disallowed goal is one of them – you see them given and you see them not given. I’m obviously going to be biased and say it’s not a foul. As soon as he goes over to the monitor you know.
“I saw Varane go down. The way he went down I thought it was a twist injury. As soon as the referee went to the monitor I knew something was going to happen that was going to spoil my party." Leicester boss Rodgers credited Varane for being smart after receiving contact.

He said: "Raphael Varane has used his experience, he gets the contact and goes down. There were opportunities for them to clear it but we were deserving of that. Every week we are seeing this types of actions, we felt we deserved to win the game."
He also added: "It was a good performance away here, disappointed to not win and that is always a good sign. The football was very good but we passed it well a lot of the time and got into some good areas. But for a decision, we would have won the game."
The draw has Leicester sat in ninth with the gap to West Ham in eighth nine points, although the Foxes do have two games in hand. United's Champions League ambitions meanwhile take a further dent as they missed out on the chance to close on Tottenham and Arsenal.
