Gary Lineker praised Leeds United for their performance yesterday and said Manchester City were flattered by the scoreline.
Leeds United lost 4-0 at Elland Road yesterday in a result that saw Manchester City go top of the league. The goals came from Rodri, Nathan Ake, Gabriel Jesus and Fernandinho.
There were two injury blows for Leeds, with Liam Cooper pulling out before the match and Stuart Dallas being carried off on a stretcher after a tackle on Jack Grealish. The injuries left Leeds struggling to cope with the dynamic attacks from Manchester City, though Lineker saw some bright spots.

Speaking on Match of the Day last night, Lineker said: “Probably a slightly flattering result I thought. I thought Leeds played actually some really good stuff and they had a real good go at Manchester City, which a lot of teams don’t, they just sit.
“But at the same time, sometimes that’s not enough and it wasn’t today.”
Former England midfielder Danny Murphy replied: “No, high up the pitch they [Leeds] lacked a bit of quality at times, but to get there they played some good stuff and they played with great energy.
“Against a lesser opposition you could argue they might have got something out of the game.”
However, Murphy also had an ominous warning for Leeds: “They’re playing Arsenal and Chelsea in the next couple of weeks. They’re now in a relegation battle.
“It’s all well and good playing good, but in the final third you need a bit more quality. You need to score some goals.”
