Gary Lineker's family pay touching tributes to Match of the Day presenter as he turns 60

Gary Lineker’s brother and sons were right on the ball as they took turns to share shots from the family album to mark his 60th birthday on Monday.

Brother Wayne, 58, kicked things off by posting a studio photo of them as lads, and another of them playing on their scooters.

On the former, Wayne wrote: "I will always be proud of you. Love you lots."

Gary’s son George posted a picture of himself and brother Harry as kids with their dad at a game.

Football pundit Gary, who has advertised Walkers crisps for more than 25 years, is also seen on a night out with all four sons, George, 28, Harry, 26, Tobias, 24, and Angus, 22.

George captioned it: “Happy 60th Birthday to the big guy @GaryLineker - you are some man.”

On social media a host of Lineker's former clubs joined in, with Spanish giants Barcelona paying tribute to "the author of this unforgettable El Clasico hat-trick" - posting a video of his 1987 treble against bitter rivals Real Madrid.

Meanwhile Gary’s Match of the Day sidekick Jermaine Jenas, 37, shared an Instagram story with Lineker's head pasted on to the FA Cup.

However, it wasn't a perfect day for the man who nabbed himself 48 England goals and the 1986 World Cup Golden Boot.

Lineker's boyhood club Leicester City, who have enjoyed a smart start to the Premier League season, failed to add the cherry on top of his birthday cake, as they fell to defeat against relegation battling Fulham.

Brendan Rodgers' men fell to a 2-1 home defeat, leaving Lineker to lament: "Well this is ruining my birthday. Come on @LCFC for Foxes sake."
