Gary Lineker has rubbed salt into Chelsea wounds following their penalty shootout heartbreak in the Carabao Cup final.
The Blues were dramatically beaten by Liverpool as Sunday's Wembley showpiece was settled on spot-kicks after neither side managed to break the deadlock over 120 minutes.
With the match moments away from penalties, Thomas Tuchel made the huge call to substitute first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy with Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has established a reputation for saving spot-kicks.
However, the gamble ultimately failed to pay off as Liverpool stopper Caoimhin Kelleher emerged as the hero, netting the decisive penalty as the Reds prevailed 11-10, after Kepa failed to make a save and then blazed over.
While the Spanish stopper was being consoled by his Chelsea team-mates following the heartbreak, former England international Lineker compounded matters as he took to Twitter to share his thoughts.
Lineker posted: "That must be a first. Bring on a keeper for a penalty shootout and the only player out of 22 to miss is that substitute keeper, Kepa."
Sunday wasn't the first time Tuchel has opted to replace goalkeepers moments before a shootout, having previously deployed the tactics against Villarreal in the European Super Cup last August, but to greater success.
Although Kepa was unable to repeat his shootout heroics from that night in Northern Ireland, Tuchel stood by his decision to make the change ahead of spot-kicks with Liverpool on Sunday.
"We did it before with Kepa," Tuchel explained. "He is slightly better in penalty saving and that is why I made the decision.
"It is unusual all 11 players need to shoot and he took it a bit too quick.

"Sometimes these things can turn against you, but you make them when they need to be made, not after when people can judge you."
Despite Tuchel's defence of his tactical ploy, Jamie Redknapp was less forgiving of the decision and of Kepa, who he slammed for his antics during the shootout.
"I hope it puts to bed the substitutions now of putting goalkeepers on," Redknapp ranted on Sky Sports. "Edouard Mendy is one of the best goalkeepers in the world and you bring on Kepa instead of him, ridiculous.
"I didn’t like his behaviour when the penalties were being taken and then he took one of the worst penalties you’ve ever seen.
"I don’t like it, I don’t understand why you do it. You have one of the best goalkeepers in the world, he should’ve stayed in there in the first place."
While it proved to be agony for Kepa, it was ecstasy for young Reds stopper Kelleher.
Though, like Kepa, he failed to save any efforts, the 23-year-old capped a fine display by holding his nerve to dispatch the decisive spot-kick moments before his opposite number skied from 12 yards out.
And it's fair to say Jurgen Klopp was delighted with his decision to select the Irish international as his man between the sticks.
"Even in professional football there should be space for some sentiment," Klopp lauded. "Caoimhin Kelleher is a young boy, plays in all the competition, what do I do?
"I am two things, a professional manager and a human being and the human being won. He deserves it."
