Gary Lineker has reunited with his ex-wife Danielle Bux for a festive knees up - six years after they split.
The former football player, 61, and actress Danielle, 42, have stayed on good terms despite putting an end to their seven-year marriage in January 2016 .
At the time the couple - who share a twenty year age gap - were reported to part ways because Danielle, who has a 20-year-old daughter from a former relationship, wished to become a mother to another child, but father-of-four Gary felt too old to welcome a new baby.
Since their split, Danielle went on to marry Nate Greenwald in 2019, an American entertainment lawyer, whom she went on to welcome now four-year-old daughter, Romy, with.
However, Danielle and Gary have now reunited as pals for their ‘annual’ tradition.
Taking to Instagram, the mother-of-two shared a snap of her ex-husband alongside her eldest daughter, Ella, who she had in a previous relationship with Adam Willis.
Captioning the photo “Our annual Christmas dinner”, the pair were seen beaming wrapping up warm in long coats.
"Always a delight," added Gary as he posted the pic to his 1.1 million followers.
The sports presenter previously explained how he continues to keep in touch with his ex-wife and Danielle’s current husband never gets ‘jealous’ of their relationship.
“He’s not got a jealous bone in his body,” Gary said to the Radio Times. “We get on really well. We go out for dinner when I’m in LA.
“It might be unusual and people might go, ‘That’s weird’ but, frankly, I don’t care. What is normal?
“Is it better to get divorced and end up fighting, screaming and shouting? Or is it better to get on if you can?"
Gary also maintains a positive relationship with Danielle’s first daughter, having visited her at university in the US in November.
Last month, he posted a picture of her to Instagram to commemorate her special day, writing: "Happy birthday to my wonderful step-daughter. Can't believe you're 20, Ella. I can believe there are chips!" The Mirror has contacted a representative of Gary Lineker and Danielle Bux for a comment on the matter.
Danielle and Gary were said to have first met on a blind date which was arranged by one of their mutual friends.
The football icon is father to four adult sons from his marriage with his first wife Michelle Cockayne, of which they were together from 1986 to 2006.
Gary is father to 30-year-old George, 28-year-old Harry, 25-year-old Tobias, and Angus, 24.
