Gary Lineker admitted Leicester City's first-half performance against Nottingham Forest capped off a "horrific" few days and branded the display a "debacle".
The Foxes were stunned by the rampant Reds in the opening 45 minutes as Steve Cooper's side raced into a three-goal lead.
Philip Zinckernagel tapped in from close range before Brennan Johnson made it 2-0 just a minute later with a composed finish through the legs of Danny Ward.
It was then left to Joe Worrall to send the City Ground into a frenzy when he headed in a James Garner corner.
Kelechi Iheanacho did pull a goal back for the Foxes before half-time to give them a glimmer a hope of avoiding crashing out of the competition as the holders of the trophy.
And Foxes hero Lineker summed up his feelings on the performance by Rodgers' side with a post on Twitter.
He wrote: "First Covid, topped up with dreadful Noravirus. Now this debacle. What a horrific few days."
