Sadio Mane got the hosts back on track with a majestic overhead kick inside the area, meanwhile Mohamed Salah added a second just moments later after showing great composure to fashion a shot at goal.

Diaz made sure of the three points in the 81st minute with a deft finish past Norwich keeper Angus Gunn, announcing himself in style in front of the Kop end.

The 25-year-old will now be hoping to kick on from this moment to remember, and Gary Lineker is already convinced he will continue to shine within the first-team.

Providing his reaction to Diaz's dink over Gunn on Twitter, the BBC pundit tweeted: "Lovely finish from Luis Diaz…his first for Liverpool. He’s a player."

Three earlier tweets from Lineker had said: "Blimey, @NorwichCityFC have taken the lead at Anfield.

"An acrobatic goal from Mané and @LFC are back on level terms.

"And @MoSalah puts @LFC ahead. Normal service has been resumed."

Further opportunities are set to be on the horizon for the former Porto winger, with both Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino currently sidelined through injury.

Issuing an update on the pair after today's match, Klopp said: "Diogo was not available and we don't know how long it will take, Bobby Firmino has a muscle problem and is out for a while, so we have to keep the boys fit and create a spirit like the boys did today in the game."
