Gary Lineker just gave the perfect reaction after Everton beat Leicester

Gary Lineker didn't seem too upset to watch his beloved Leicester City side lost to Everton as the Blues moved up to 16th in the Premier League.

Everton are now a point clear of the relegation zone with a game in hand over Leeds United, who sit in 18th place, after today's 2-1 away win.

Everton came into the game high on confidence after beating Chelsea 1-0 at Goodison Park last weekend, but the Blues' away this season has been extremely poor as they headed to the King Power Stadium.

Fresh off European disappointment, Leicester failed to put that behind them as they fell behind to a Vitalii Mykolenko goal inside six minutes, but Patson Daka soon responded. Mason Holgate scored the winner on the half hour mark as Everton held on for all three points.

Lineker took to Twitter to simply say: "You’re welcome Everton. You’re very welcome."

Match of the Day host Lineker spent a single season at Goodison Park - making 41 appearances and scoring 30 times in that time. Everton bought the striker off his hometown club, Leicester, where he made 194 appearances and scored 95 goals.

As Leeds and Burnley both lost this weekend, Everton are the big winners for the teams down at the foot of the Premier League as the relegation battle enters its crucial final phase.
