Gary Lineker has shared his reaction after Manchester City were knocked out of the Champions League by Real Madrid.
Pep Guardiola's side held a 4-3 advantage going into the match at the Bernabeu and Riyad Mahrez extended that lead in the 73rd minute with a strike that deceived Thibaut Courtois at his near post. However, in stoppage time, Real's substitute Rodrygo scored two in as many minutes to take the game to extra time.
Madrid's comeback was complete five minutes into the first period of extra time when Ruben Dias brought Karim Benzema down for a penalty. Benzema dusted himself down and slotted home the winning goal to take Real through to the final against Liverpool in Paris.

Commenting immediately after the full-time whistle, the Match of the Day host shared his verdict on the match. In a tweet, Lineker wrote: "One of the most extraordinary and thrilling two-legged Champions League games in the history of the competition.
" Manchester City were clearly the better side and unlucky to lose, but this Real Madrid has immense character and somehow keep finding something from somewhere. Football, eh."
