Saturday's second half against Bournemouth was unacceptable. People might enjoy seeing endless repeats of Friends and Only Fools and Horses on TV, but there were no laughs at the City Ground - and if fans are subjected to repeats of that capitulation then the season is only heading one way.
But to what degree should one disastrous half define our judgements of a team which now has four points from six Premier League games? It is a team which should have seven points, or even nine after blowing a 2-0 led to losing 3-2 against Bournemouth. Forest should also rue that sloppy goal against Everton to draw. On the other hand, they could easily have drawn with West Ham or even lost the game.
There were some boos on the final whistle on Saturday as Forest players held their heads in their hands having thrown away three precious points. On social media afterwards, the reaction from some was expected.

Lineker and Shearer agree
Former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer has praised referee Michael Oliver for having "the guts" to award Nottingham Forest a penalty against Bournemouth.
Oliver awarded Forest a penalty for handball in the first half and, when asked by VAR Graeme Scott to consult the pitchside monitor, did so and stuck with his original decision. It was the first time this season a referee has not changed his mind at the screen, Shearer says, and he has praised the referee for doing so.
"A first this season. Well done, Michael Oliver," Shearer said on Match of the Day. "At last, a referee has had the guts to go over to the monitor and say 'no, Graeme Scott, you're wrong, I'm sticking with my decision'.
Carragher responds
Jamie Carragher has been filmed appearing to snatch a phone from the hands of a Nottingham Forest fan.
The former Liverpool defender was walking down from the commentary box when the incident happened following Forest's home defeat to Tottenham last month.
Carragher, 44, was with stewards when a Forest supporter appeared to push their phone into his face. He was then filmed grabbing the phone out of the supporter's hand while others taunt the Sky Sports commentator. He then gestures to other supporters.
