Harry Kane will feel "sick" after he saw England hit six in their World Cup opener without scoring himself, according to two of the Three Lions' most historic marksman.
The Tottenham forward led the line for the Three Lions as they made light work of their first game against Iran. Gareth Southgate's side were 3-0 up by the break and added another three in the second half to lay down a marker to the rest of the other tournament favourites.
Kane, who won the Golden Boot at the World Cup in Russia four-and-a-half years ago, is looking to become the first player ever to win successive Golden Boots, but was unable to get in on the act on Monday afternoon. Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, two men in the BBC studio, had an eye for goal during their careers.
They admitted that the England skipper would've been frustrated after firing blank. Lineker said: "England have scored six goals and Harry Kane never got in on the act." Rio Ferdinand asked: "Would you two have been sick if your team had scored six and you didn't get on the scoresheet?"
Lineker and Shearer agreed they would have emphatically. Kane scored a hat-trick in the last World Cup against Panama - one of his six goals. Against Iran, Bukayo Saka got himself a brace after Jude Bellingham had headed home England's opener. Raheem Sterling scored before the interval and Marcus Rashford struck seconds after coming off the bench.
Callum Wilson then unselfishly laid on Jack Grealish to make it six for the Three Lions, who will turn their attention to their game with United States on Friday. Despite the prolific showing in front of goal, Southgate was frustrated by England's slack defending in the latter stages and called for improvement.

He told BBC Sport: "It's [conceding twice is] a consequence of the score, we had 24 mins of added time across the game and it is a long time to focus and we just lost concentration. When we play at a slow tempo we are nowhere near as effective."
On the win itself, Southgate added: "To win by that margin and play the way as we did for the majority of the game we have to be really happy. We looked ready. We wanted to be that type of team. They dealt with game really well, there were lots of stoppages but our pressing and movement was really good.
"I've got to be really happy but we should not be conceding two goals at that stage in the game. We will have to be right on our game against the USA. It is a great start but we have to be better."
