Gary Lightbody has donated a total of £70,000 to a number of foodbanks and charities across Northern Ireland.
The Snow Patrol front-man announced the generous donations on his Instagram page on June 15, which happens to be his 46th birthday.
He donated £10,000 to five different foodbanks in a bid to combat ongoing food poverty. As well as this, he donated the same amount to two charities, Charis Cancer Care Fund and React.

In the caption of his Instagram post, Gary said: "Thank you to all these awesome charities for dong such incredible work. It’s an honour to be associated with you all. Peace and love. gL.x"
Paul Doherty from Foodstock told Belfast Live he was blown away by the donation.
Every week, the West Belfast foodbank helps over 400 families who are being impacted by the cost of living crisis through food support, heating, meals and school uniforms.
He added: "In the last number of weeks, we have ran out of food and have increasingly been concerned about how we can sustain the demand for help in our communities. The news that Gary Lightbody and his foundation will support us with £10,000 means an awful lot.
"When I found out, I was honestly close to tears as we were really under pressure and this news gave our whole team a massive lift as we know now that we can help so many more individuals and families out there.
"I want to thank Gary for seeing what people are going through in our communities and acting upon it. He is a hero and the work his foundation continue to do is incredible."
Reacting to the generous donation, The Larder Belfast said: "Massive thank you to Gary and everyone at the Lightbody Foundation for thinking of their wider community.
"This will help stock many a bare cupboard here in East Belfast. There's always enough when we share."

Gary Lightbody launched The Lightbody Foundation in partnership with the Community Foundation to give to charities in Northern Ireland.
It has awarded over £100 million to groups and organisations across Northern Ireland, with donations contributing to education, health, housing, the arts, social justice, employment, peace, and reconciliation.
They are rooted in a tradition of community connections, risk-taking, and innovation and they help smaller, community-led organisations that work directly with people who are at the margins of society.
