Gary Hamilton believes Conor McMenamin has the ability to shine across the water, but questions whether the Glentoran winger would fancy a move at this stage of his career.
McMenamin was the standout player in the Irish League before he sustained a broken metatarsal in a game against Cliftonville last month.
That is expected to rule the 27-year-old out of action until February, potentially derailing any interest from cross-channel clubs during the January transfer window.

Glenavon boss Hamilton has been a long-time admirer of McMenamin, and continues to hail the Northern Ireland international as the best player in the Irish Premiership.
And he hasn't seen anything new to dampen that enthusiasm.
"In my opinion he is the best player in the league. I have said all along and I haven't changed my mind on it," Hamilton said.
"The games we have played against Glentoran, last year anyway, he was the difference in the two teams.
"Watching him earlier this season he has been scoring goals and providing assistances, and helping Glentoran turn performances into wins.
"He is making an impact and helping them get the results they have been getting."
At 27, Hamilton isn't convinced McMenamin would fancy a change in career and lifestyle.
He also says some clubs may be put off by the older profile of the Glens winger.
"He is good enough. I don't know whether he will do it or not. But he is definitely good enough, there is no doubt about that," Hamilton said.
"Whether or not someone takes a chance at the age Conor is at, that's another thing. But in terms of ability he is certainly good enough."
