Gary Goldsmith, the Princess of Wales’s uncle, is currently appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, a move that has reportedly infuriated the Middleton family.
The younger brother of Carole Middleton, Goldsmith is reportedly considered to be the black sheep of the family, though he’d rather be known as the “King of Fun”.
After just days in the house, Goldsmith has spoken candidly about several members of the royal family, including his niece, Kate, and her sister-in-law, Meghan.
With another two weeks of the reality show to go, the royal family may be anxious to hear what else has to say.
But what has he said about the royal family so far?
Prince William is ‘very normal’
In a teaser clip shared before he entered the house, he said Prince William was “very normal”.
“First time I met William, Catherine was cooking and William said, ‘Hi, do you want a cup of tea?’ Very normal," Goldsmith recalled.
Kate is ‘difficult to get a hold of at the best of times’
Goldsmith revealed on Big Brother: “It’s difficult to get hold of Kate at the best of times”, adding “and she’s got children and I love the fact that she’s putting family first.”
He also said he believes the Prince and Princess of Wales will be “the saviour of the royal family”.
Meghan ‘creates so much drama’
In Tuesday’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Goldsmith said: “I have the opinion that Harry was really, really, really loved, massively loved, and when they were a threesome – Kate, William and Harry – were really comfortable together, loved.”
On Harry’s relationship with Meghan, he said: “And then suddenly there’s an extra dynamic that comes in, puts a stick in the spokes and creates so much drama that I don’t generally think is there, and rewrote the history and said how unhappy he was, and I just don’t think that’s fair.
“And then you can’t throw your family under a bus in such a dramatic style and then write books about it and expect to be invited round for Christmas.”
