Paedophile Gary Glitter must serve the rest of his sentence as he will always be a danger to kids, said one of his victim’s lawyer.
The pervert rocker was sent back to jail on Monday for trying to surf the Dark Web on his mobile phone.
He had breached bail conditions just 39 days after being released half way through a 16-year sentence for sexually abusing three girls aged 13 and under.
Slater and Gordon lawyer Richard Scorer, who acts for one of the victims, said: “Anyone with any common sense can see that he will never change and that he is a danger to children.
“He should not be released again. My client lives in dread at the prospect of his release. It’s essential the parole board confirms without delay he will serve the rest of his sentence in prison. Letting him out again would be madness.”
Glitter, 78, was freed from The Verne prison in Dorset on February 3 and was holed up at the hostel in the South.
Footage emerged of him asking how to skip detection when web browsing on a smartphone. Images show him looking gaunt and wearing a hearing aid.
He was whisked away from a hostel at around 6pm in an unmarked police car, his head covered with a blanket. Insiders say Glitter’s case will now be referred to the Parole Board but it could be years before he is considered for release again.
Former Det Supt Michael Hames, who set up the Met’s paedophile unit, said: “He is so dangerous and so fixated on his offending behaviour that he’ll never stop – he’s gone too far. He’s arrogant, he’s opinionated.
“He’s someone who’s always going to be a danger to children. He’ll probably die in prison.”
Glitter was jailed in 2015 for abusing children during the 70s and 80s. He was also locked up in 1999 and 2006.
The Probation Service said: “We set tough licence conditions and when offenders breach them, we don’t hesitate to return them to custody.”
It is understood Justice Secretary Dominic Raab has demanded a probe.
