Gary Cully cruised to an impressive win against veteran Miquel Vazquez in Nottingham on Saturday night.
The Kildare man was in complete control throughout the lightweight bout, knocking the Mexican down for the first time in the third round with a powerful body shot.
Vazquez did manage to get back on his feet on that occasion, but he went down again in the fifth after Cully landed a lovely combination and could not resume.
The victory took Cully's record to 14-0 and he was delighted that his hard work paid off.
He said after the fight: "I loved it in there, every second of it. I've been training for the last 15 weeks for this, working hard twice a day everyday in the gym and it all showed there tonight so I'm very happy."
When asked what's next, Cully, who is trained by Pete Taylor, replied: "I want world titles. I've said that since I turned pro and I've got the right team behind me.
"I was calling for world title shots when I was probably 2-0 and 3-0 but we've timed it right. We've got the right fights at the right time.
"I won the Irish title, WBO European so that got me in the rankings there and now I'm ranked highly with the WBA as well so I want to start pushing on, looking for big names in the division and start getting my name out there even more."
