Gary Barlow fans outraged as he signs autobiography with a ‘squiggle’: ‘Is this even you?’

Gary Barlow fans have been left disappointed after buying signed copies of his autobiography, which reportedly featured a “squiggle” in place of a distinctive signature.

Last week, the singer told his Twitter followers that more signed copies of his book A Better Me were now available to buy.

“@WHSmith have only gone and got more signed copies of my book #ABetterMe… Have you picked one up yet? What are you waiting for?” he wrote.

However, the Take That star’s supporters pointed out that their signed copies of the book had been marked with just one initial.

“Waited in anticipated for my signed book from @GaryBarlow Gary were you called away mid signing?” one disgruntled fan asked, adding: “Is this even you?”

“It’s just a squiggle which anyone could have made,” another wrote.

Others said that Barlow’s letter ‘G’ more closely resembled an ‘S,’ further adding to the conclusion.

“Ooh fab… maybe my next one will have a ‘G’ instead of an ‘S’ who is this man Sary Barlow??!” one follower joked.

“I must say Gary I’m disappointed with your signature. Just [a] squiggle,” another wrote.

Josef Killey, 20, revealed that his mother had been left “disappointed” after he presented her with a signed copy as a special gift.

“When I picked up the book everything seemed fine until I got to my car and double checked it was signed and that’s when I saw the signature,” he told the Daily Mail.

“When I saw the book I laughed at first then I was quite angry about it, knowing that my mum would be disappointed and rightly so.

“I know he would’ve had thousands to sign but what is in the book I purchased is ridiculous.”

Barlow’s autobiography was released last October, and provides a candid account of his mental and physical health struggles following Take That’s split.

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Barlow for comment.
