Garth Crooks sends brutal Paul Pogba jibe after Manchester United lose to Man City

Garth Crooks has sent a brutal jibe to Paul Pogba after his performance for Manchester United in their dismal loss city rivals Manchester City. United were soundly beaten in the derby as two goals each from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez either side of the half-time interval were enough to record a comfortable victory for City.

The win for City ensured that they completed a league double over their cross-city rivals. Jadon Sancho brought United level after De Bruyne's fifth-minute opener, which was the only real positive to take out of the game - as United had been played off the pitch in the second-half.

City regained a six-point cushion at the top with their latest three-point haul, toyed with United after Mahrez netted his first and his side's third. United were woeful in the second-half and failed to register a single shot, highlighting their troubles.

The majority of United players have been roundly criticised after the performance, with Garth Crooks picking out Pogba in particular. The pundit compared the Frenchman to Kevin de Bruyne who had a man of the match performance for City.

He said: "Big games require big players but I was alarmed by Paul Pogba's poor contribution in this one. If ever a fixture was made for him, this was it - and he allowed it to just pass him by."

The 28-year-old's second spell at United appears to be heading towards an end, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season - there have been no recent talks of an extension. This coming after United paid a club-record fee for Pogba - who has failed to deliver since his return after spending a few seasons with Juventus.

Pogba has been linked with a move back to the Italian side, whilst PSG and Real Madrid are also reportedly vying for his signature.
